Composition and release form

This product is available in the form of an ointment or cream. Both options are intended specifically for external use and are not suitable for mucous membranes. The concentration and set of active ingredients in them are the same:

• betamethasone (dipropionate) – 0.05 g. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid hormone, whose decongestant, antipruritic and immunosuppressive effect is several times stronger than that of hydrocortisone due to its more pronounced vasoconstrictor effect. In the case of thrush, clotrimazole is the main treating component of Akriderm GK. Betamethasone alleviates its inevitable consequences, such as itching, swelling and inflammation of the mucous membranes of the reproductive system, and gentamicin exists in case of a mixed infection (if both the Candida fungus and a set of bacteria attached to it are to blame for all the patient’s troubles).

In addition to them, both drugs contain texture-forming additives - petroleum jelly, paraffin, propylene glycol and some others, often found in cosmetics for face/body care.

According to the subjective perception of patients, the cream is better suited for application to the skin - it has a less saturated texture and is better absorbed, especially if it is necessary to apply it on large folds of the skin (the greater femoral fold, between the fingers, armpits, under the mammary glands).

Indications and contraindications

Akriderm GK is recommended for topical application for:

• eczema;
• lichen;
• autoimmune lesions (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, tinea versicolor, lupus);

At the same time, it is not indicated for syphilitic rash (does not affect the spirochete), chickenpox, herpes zoster, “fever” on the lips and other manifestations of herpes virus infection, skin tuberculosis, juvenile acne, comedones, boils, carbuncles. It is not applied to fresh cuts, scratches, open wounds, malignant and precancerous (cutaneous horn) tumors.

"Akriderm" for thrush: application

Clotrimazole is toxic to the liver and penetrates the blood-brain and placental barriers - hence most of the contraindications, including its application to mucous membranes and areas of injury.

When applied externally on relatively intact skin, its absorption does not exceed 15%. But besides this, the product contains a hormonal drug and another antibiotic, and the penetrating ability of both is also high.

Cream and ointment are applied locally to areas of itching and hyperemia, provided that they occupy no more than a third of the skin surface. Otherwise, systemic treatment is required - a combination of external and oral agents. Applications should be performed sparingly, at a minimum, twice a day, after personal hygiene and other water procedures (douching, washing).

It must be remembered that the Akriderm formulation includes a hormonal drug. It itself causes acne, dys- and amenorrhea, overexcitation of the central nervous system, arterial hypertension, local thinning and atrophy of the skin, and increased blood sugar levels.

Among women

You should not lubricate the mucous membrane of the vagina and cervix in women with the product - for this there are suppositories with fluconazole (a triazole derivative with better selectivity against fungi) and other alternatives to Akriderm GK in terms of composition. In children
