Acne is a fear not only for women, but also for men. Where do they come from and how can you get rid of them?
Any person, especially in modern society, values the way he looks. The importance of this aspect is evidenced by one popular saying: “They are greeted by their clothes, but they are seen off by their minds.” By the way a person looks, the people around him have an idea about him. That is why etiquette recommends always taking care of yourself and dressing neatly. However, if you can iron a shirt or trousers so that everything looks good, then with acne on the face it’s a slightly different story - you can’t get rid of them in one go. So what to do with this scourge, and what exactly is acne? We will talk about this and much more in this article.
Causes of acne on the face
Pimples and redness that appear on the face always indicate the same thing - certain disruptions have occurred in the body, metabolism has been disrupted, and the skin cannot cope with the normal removal of toxins through the pores. But there can be quite a few reasons for such failures.
- Hormonal changes in the body. Most often, acne appears in adolescents during puberty - androgen hormones are produced too much, which leads to acne, acne and other irritations. Pregnant women also often suffer from skin rashes, since the expectant mother’s body is also preparing for new functions and is actively restructuring itself.
- Excessive use of decorative cosmetics. Even the highest quality mascaras, blushes and foundations still harm the health of the skin - and even more harm is done by cosmetics from the “average” price range, which most women use. Over time, the skin becomes dirty and begins to dry out greatly - hence, acne occurs.
- Abrupt climate change. The body of different people reacts individually to sudden heat or extreme cold - for many, the skin cannot withstand such a sharp change in temperature and humidity and reacts with a variety of rashes.
- Poor nutrition. This is one of the main reasons for significant skin rashes - long-term metabolic disorders lead to acne that does not go away for years, despite all desperate efforts to combat it. The body simply cannot cope with excess toxins accumulated due to irregular snacking and consumption of fatty, spicy and salty foods.
- Acute or chronic diseases of internal organs. This reason directly follows from the previous one - long-term poor nutrition inevitably leads to malfunctions of the stomach, intestines, liver and heart. In this case, acne can be regarded as an alarming signal about serious problems in the body.
- Finally, many women suffer from “short-term” acne that appears regularly during the menstrual period. At this time, the body intensively produces steroid hormones - and although after a few days their level decreases, the face can still “bloom” with unsightly pimples.
Is it a matter of age?
Partly.
Acne does disappear with age, but not for everyone. There are people who constantly suffer from unpleasant rashes on their face and throughout their body. Moreover, their problem not only does not disappear over time, but also worsens with even greater force. It’s especially bad for those who have unfortunate acne that appears on their face. After all, for example, rashes on the shoulders, on the back and even on the chest are a problem that can, if not be solved, then at least be covered with clothes. You won't be able to wrap your face in rags.
Acne on different parts of the face and their connection with internal organs
As we noted, one of the reasons for the appearance of acne may be diseases of the internal organs - the gastrointestinal or cardiac system. Medical practice has repeatedly confirmed that based on the location of acne, one can state with varying degrees of certainty which organs need careful diagnosis and treatment.
- Pimples on the nose may indicate a disease of the stomach, heart or pancreas. As a rule, pimples that appear closer to the tip of the nose indicate problems with the cardiovascular system, while rashes in the area of the bridge of the nose indicate ailments of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Pimples located on the cheeks closer to the inner corners of the eyes indicate kidney disease. Often, rashes in these places are accompanied by noticeable bruises under the eyes, “bags” and morning puffiness.
- Pimples on the forehead indicate problems with the liver and lower intestines. Regular disorders, gastritis and peptic ulcers, constipation - all this affects the condition of the skin of the forehead.
- Another common location for acne is the chin. In this case, it won’t hurt to check your reproductive system - usually acne in this place indicates problems with the pelvic organs, not only in women, but also in men.
- Sometimes pimples pop up under the nose, above the upper lip. Most often, this indicates a problem in the body's lymphatic system.
- The temporal zones are “responsible” for the functioning of the spleen and gallbladder.
- Abundant acne rashes on the cheeks are also common among those who suffer from gastritis and colitis, peptic ulcers and metabolic disorders.
- And finally, acne on the neck may indicate poisoning of the body - both acute and almost imperceptible, caused by the gradual accumulation of harmful toxins.
The most popular remedies for getting rid of acne
Not all acne can be cured quickly. Despite the fact that numerous advertisements for cleansing lotions claim that acne will get rid of acne quickly and completely, in reality this almost never happens. For example, teenage acne is often so abundant that treatment only makes it less noticeable - it finally disappears only after adolescence and hormonal changes are completed.
Nevertheless, it is worth fighting acne in any case. Even a slight improvement will still have a positive effect on the condition of the skin, and you will like your own reflection in the mirror much more. There are quite a few proven remedies - let’s look at each of them and briefly talk about the action of the drugs.
Eliminal gel
Eliminal gel is a drug whose main active ingredients are silicon dioxide and lactulose. This product is taken orally - Eliminal gel is a suspension packaged in small sachets.
The product helps remove toxins from the body, quickly cleanse and normalize metabolic processes. The suspension can be used by both children and adults - but in different dosages indicated in the instructions. As a rule, this remedy has a good effect if acne is caused precisely by malfunctions in the intestines - after the original source of the problem is eliminated, the skin also quickly returns to normal. The drug is taken in courses - over 10 - 12 days, 2 - 3 times a day, depending on age. However, the list of contraindications for use includes gastric or duodenal ulcers in the acute stage.
Lactofiltrum
Lactofiltrum is another popular sorbent product used for acne caused by problems with the gastrointestinal tract. The drug also contains lactulose and the substance lingin. Combined together, the two components bind and absorb waste and toxins, remove them out and thus cleanse the intestines, helping to normalize its functioning.
Lactofiltrum is a powder packaged in dosage sachets - before use, the drug must be diluted in warm water to a liquid suspension. The drug is taken in courses - over two to three weeks. Lactofiltrum is completely harmless, but longer use of the drug can lead to the removal of useful substances from the body. In addition, the use of the drug is not recommended for acute ulcerative exacerbations, intestinal obstruction and other severe conditions.
Tar soap for acne
You can fight acne not only from the inside, but also from the outside. And the simplest and most reliable remedy is ordinary tar soap, which has been actively used for many generations. Unlike most hygiene products, tar soap does not contain any aromatic additives and contains 10% completely natural birch tar - an excellent natural antiseptic.
Treat yourself to a weekly mask or acne treatment
Doing a mask every two weeks or spot-treating pimples is a great way to keep your skin balanced and sebum production under control. Masque 103 is a good mask for oily skin and you can also use Creme 15 for intensive acne treatment.
To use Creme 15 as an acne treatment, apply a thick layer of cream to clean skin and leave on for 20 minutes. After time has passed, simply massage the residue into your skin. You can do this treatment up to twice a week for an extra cleansing and soothing effect.
Is it possible to squeeze pimples?
Pimples always appear on the face at the most inopportune moment. And the first impulse of any person is to simply squeeze out the acne. However, doctors and cosmetologists categorically do not recommend doing this.
- Firstly, a new infection can enter the inflamed pores through the resulting wound - and then the redness will only intensify.
- Secondly, squeezing pimples often leads to scars remaining on the skin - and it is almost impossible to get rid of them later.
- And thirdly, with inaccurate pressure, you can damage tissues and lymph nodes, which will lead to severe inflammation, new acne and a general deterioration in the condition of the skin.
Even if acne appears very inopportunely, it is better to wait until the pimple goes away on its own, under the influence of medicinal ointments and tablets.
Calm, just calm!
It is important to understand that any stressful situation does not pass without leaving a trace on the human body. In particular, this affects the skin: its color becomes unhealthy, wrinkles and acne appear. There are many problems, and they arise constantly. However, you need to pull yourself together and calm down. Stress destroys not only nerve cells, but also the face!
You should approach problems with endless optimism and, most importantly, with healthy self-irony. You shouldn’t lose heart and “bury” your sense of humor, because a smile is often a more effective “medicine” in the fight against acne than various targeted hormonal creams.
Preventing acne on the face
The best way to avoid suffering from acne on your face is to simply prevent it from appearing again. What preventative rules should you follow to keep your skin clean and fresh?
Facial skin care
First of all, you need to take care of your facial skin. If you use cosmetics, try to choose the highest quality and natural brands, wash off all makeup from your face every night and treat your skin with emollients. Don't let problems such as excessive dryness or oily skin go to chance. Therapeutic masks, washes and creams will help keep your skin in good condition and prevent acne from occurring.
Healthy regular eating
Proper nutrition is the most important aspect on which the health of facial skin depends. Try to have breakfast, lunch and dinner regularly, do not snack on the go or dry food, and do not abuse spicy and fatty foods. Normal metabolism is responsible for the timely removal of toxins from the body - therefore, proper nutrition will help avoid clogged pores and the appearance of acne.
At any time of the year, try to eat more fruits and fresh vegetables. They contain the most important vitamins and microelements necessary for the rapid renewal and restoration of epidermal cells.
Maintaining water balance
The health of facial skin directly depends on the water balance in the body. It is water that supplies cells with many trace elements and minerals and is responsible for their healthy development and constant renewal. The correct water balance provides the skin with elasticity, softness and even texture.
To ensure that the body does not lack fluid, you need to drink more. The norm should be six to eight glasses of regular water per day - on average, this is enough to maintain the required level of water in the epidermal cells. In addition, it is worth remembering again about vegetables and fruits - they also contain a large amount of liquid enriched with valuable elements.
