Peach kernel oil. Benefits and features of use

The velvety skin of the peach and its delightfully delicate color are often associated with ideal skin, so it is not at all surprising that vegetable oil extracted from peach pits is considered one of the most popular cosmetics. Soft, light, non-aggressive, peach oil combines nourishing and moisturizing properties with a quick toning and softening effect.

Deliciously delicate and unique, peach oil is one of the most famous and widespread bases in aromatherapy. This base oil is actively used in the perfume and cosmetics industry, paying tribute to its softening and light nutritional characteristics, which are manifested in an extremely wide range of therapeutic properties.

This is one of those bases in which cosmetic characteristics dominate over medicinal properties, but its use is not limited to just these two areas: peach seed oil is one of the most refined and valuable culinary oils.

How to choose peach oil?

Peach kernels are a rarely adulterated base oil. Despite the complex production process, the yield of oil is very high, and the products used to obtain it are “waste” from culinary industries, so there is virtually no point in counterfeiting this oil. But peach oil itself, due to its good miscibility, is often used to adulterate other base oils and even higher-priced esters.

According to the regions where raw materials are grown, there is practically no preference in the quality of the resulting oil. Even today, European, in particular Italian, peach seed oils are considered the most valuable, but any other country of origin of the materials is quite acceptable, provided the trees are grown in environmentally friendly conditions.

When buying oil, the main guideline for its quality is the composition (it should contain only 100% vegetable oil without impurities) and completeness of information about the production method (the usual “extraction” indicates that the manufacturer did not bother to provide you with all the necessary information and, possibly, hides other important facts). The Latin name of peach oil, which is confirmed by certificates, can be labeled as prunus persica, peach kernel oil, oleum persicorum .

You can buy peach oil not only in aromatherapy, but also in gastronomic departments, however, it is better to check information about the quality and certificates of the oil in supermarkets and shops very carefully.

Receipt method

The process of extracting one of your favorite vegetable oils is quite complicated. The peach kernel base is obtained in several stages of processing, first extracting the coarse oil through simple mechanical pressing, and then removing plant residues and toxic substances by filtration, which is also multi-stage.

After pressing, the oil is hydrated, neutralized, bleached, and only then can be deodorized with natural essential oil, creating the much-loved refined oil. As a result of complex processing, the oil acquires soft and delicate taste and a full range of properties.

Facial care

Peach oil is extremely beneficial for facial skin; it will help get rid of symptoms such as:

  • dullness and grayness;
  • "crow's feet";
  • flabbiness and withering;
  • wrinkles;
  • dermatitis;
  • dryness.

The mask is made like this: a gauze napkin is soaked in liquid heated in water and placed on problem areas or the entire face, except for the area around the eyes, for about half an hour. The procedure can be carried out twice a day, every day, while peach oil can be mixed with others - lemon, rose, chamomile, neroli and others.

To improve the skin around the eyes and rejuvenate it, you should mix jojoba and peach oils in equal proportions, add a couple of drops of rose or sandalwood essential oil to the mixture, and then apply the cosmetic with light patting movements to the skin of the eyelids after waking up and before going to bed.

A mixture of avocado and peach oils , mixed in equal parts, with the addition of two drops of rose or lemon balm oil per spoon of the mixture, is useful for the lips.

Characteristics

Compound

The composition of peach seed oil is surprisingly balanced. This is one of the rare oils, almost 40% of the vitamin content of which is vitamins PP and A, supplemented with ascorbic acid, vitamins E and B in an amount that does not affect the phototoxicity of the oil itself.

Almost two-thirds of the fatty acid composition is oleic acid, another third is linoleic acid. Linolenic, palmitoleic, arachidic, palmitic and other fatty acids are significantly inferior to them in concentration.

In addition, peach seed oil contains phospholipids and carotenoids, calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and tocopherols.

Color, taste and aroma

The color of peach oil is a delicate, almost imperceptible light yellow, as soft as its taste.

The flavor profile is subtle, with almost imperceptible overtones of peach pits, with obvious refined integrity and a pronounced delicate softness.

The aroma is quite typical for all oils from stone fruits: slightly reminiscent of peaches themselves, but almost imperceptible, it is delicate and soft, perfectly revealing the nature of the oil’s effects.

Despite the fact that both the taste and aroma of peach seed oil are not very intense, they are easy to distinguish from other plant bases from the first “contact”.

Effect on the skin

When applied to the skin, peach oil instantly gives a feeling of velvety and tenderness. And the nature of his influence cannot be called anything other than light.

It is quickly and evenly distributed, and remains on the skin for a long time as a kind of softening trail, which gives the feeling of a protective soft film, but without visible external effects such as oily shine. When applied to the skin, it instantly softens, smoothes, gives a feeling of lightness, relieves inflammation and a feeling of tightness.

This is one of the best base oils for massage in terms of quality of distribution. In giving the skin softness and elasticity, it has no equal in massage mixtures.

This is an oil with pronounced penetrating abilities, quickly delivering esters and drugs to the deep layers of the skin, one of the best vehicles in aromatherapy in general.

Using hand sanitizer

Baths of oil obtained from peach seeds have a beneficial effect on the skin of the hands. Their preparation takes a minimum of time. Add 5-7 drops of eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, chamomile and lemon oils to 100 g of product - and the caring mixture is ready. You need to keep your hands in this bath for 10-12 minutes. This mixture can be used for the procedure many times.

Peach oil has strong moisturizing and healing properties, so it is often used to restore cuticles. If the cuticle is damaged, it is recommended to apply a little product to it, cover the treated area with a gauze pad and leave for a third of an hour. The procedure should be carried out twice a day until the pain and visible damage disappear.

Use in cosmetology

Peach oil has the most pronounced complex cosmetic properties. This is one of the lightest, but at the same time super-effective oils for daily care, the use of which is the key to the aesthetic appearance and health of the skin.

Peach pits are considered one of the main bases for daily use. This base is primarily for normal skin - it maintains its condition, gives it a beautiful and healthy color and that luxurious texture, but peach oil is no less suitable for the constant care of problem skin types - combination, prone to rashes, dry, oily.

The overall improvement in texture and color does not exhaust the effects of peach pits. This oil also tones, brightens, gently relieves inflammation, nourishes and moisturizes the skin, and has a general rejuvenating effect, but the main advantage of the peach kernel base is the complexity and systematic effect on the condition of the epidermis. Penetrating quickly and deeply into cells, stimulating renewal and regeneration, it contributes to the high-quality establishment of local metabolism, blood supply and respiration and, through internal changes, improves the characteristics of the skin.

The immediate effect of the oil concerns primarily the textural characteristics, the condition of damaged and sensitive skin and mucous membranes, and a softening sensation.

With regular use, this oil improves the firmness and elasticity of the epidermis, which is especially noticeable on body skin prone to loss of firmness and structure, for example, with weight fluctuations and cellulite.

This is one of the best oils for supporting eyelid and lip skin care.

Peach pits have earned the title of one of the most common base oils for aromatherapy purposes. This oil has virtually no rancidity, making the peach kernel base an ideal choice for enriching cosmetic creams, for preparing ointments, shampoo bases, massage and cosmetic oils, balms, lotions, and masks.

Use as a primary care product covers not only skin health and beauty, but also hair care. Peach oil is perfect for regular care of brittle and dry hair, because it promotes high-quality regeneration of the hair structure and restores its healthy shine.

Peach pits are also used to care for eyebrows and eyelashes as a restorative and softening component.

The presence of peach kernel oil in the caring oil has a general strengthening effect on the nail plates and prevents fragility and delamination.

Hair care

The product is ideal for hair care - it improves its appearance, promotes regeneration and restoration. The oil will help cope with dandruff, accelerate hair growth, prevent split ends, fill your hair with strength and give it a healthy and natural shine.

The simplest mask is a mixture of peach seed oil and any other oil. Apply the product to the hair roots with massaging movements and leave for 15-30 minutes, after which it is carefully washed off with warm water.

Peach oil promotes eyelash growth : it is mixed with castor oil, napkins are moistened in the mixture, placed on the eyes and left for a quarter of an hour.

Medicinal properties

But the medicinal properties of oil from peach kernels are significantly less. When used internally or in culinary masterpieces, peach oil plays the role of a digestive supplement.

Peach seeds have antiemetic, choleretic, diuretic, and laxative effects.

It is used in the treatment of colds, urolithiasis, cardiovascular diseases and anemia, because peach pits stimulate an increase in hemoglobin levels and its synthesis, and its vitamin composition allows it to be used as a powerful antioxidant and normalizes metabolism.

It is also used as a mild emollient and regenerating agent for burns, dermatitis and eczema.

Peach pits are an excellent adaptogen that allows the skin to adapt to changing climatic conditions and fluctuations in diet, water characteristics and air humidity.
