How to properly use Salicylic-zinc paste against fungus?

Salicylic-zinc paste is characterized by high fat content and therefore it is quite difficult to wash it off with water. When this product has already “worked out” its allotted time, you just need to lightly remove the remaining paste from your face with a paper napkin. And after that, you need to wash your face and apply cream to your face. By the way, you should not apply salicylic-zinc paste on your forehead close to your eyebrows, because it can easily drip onto the eyebrows and then it will be more difficult to wash it off.

Acne is not always a problem of adolescence. They often overtake adults, causing a lot of inconvenience. The cause of rashes always lies in the body. You need to influence it, but you really want to urgently get rid of external manifestations. Zinc paste for acne helps with this, having unique properties that affect the functioning of the sebaceous glands and relieve inflammation.

Zinc is an element present in the human body. If there is a deficiency of it, acne appears on the skin, and in difficult cases - purulent inflammation. Zinc deficiency is immediately noticeable. Nails become brittle, hair loses its shine, and wounds heal very slowly.

To solve cosmetic problems associated with zinc deficiency, salicylic-zinc paste is often used. This is a remedy that relieves inflammation, restores freshness to the skin, giving it a matte appearance, and regulating the secretion of sebum.

The product is effective against acne, as well as:

  • Disinfects the neoplasm itself and the skin as a whole.
  • Dries out acne, thereby speeding up treatment.
  • Relieves skin irritation.
  • Accelerates regeneration, increases elasticity.

The use of paste is no less effective in the process of fighting stains and healing wounds.

How to apply zinc paste on your face

  1. First, before applying the paste to the face, inflamed areas of the skin of the body or face should be treated with the antiseptic fucorcin.
  2. According to the instructions, the paste can be used 2-3 times a day with a minimum break of 3 hours between uses.
  3. The course of treatment is approximately 10 days, but it is worth noting that it is recommended to apply zinc paste to the face no more than 3 times a week. Treatment periods can be either reduced in case of mild, not pronounced acne, or increased in case of more severe inflammation.
  4. The zinc paste should be washed off 10 minutes after applying the product. Dermatologists recommend doing this using tar soap and a moisturizing lotion or skin care gel.
  5. Also, before applying the paste to areas of acne inflammation, first check the level of skin sensitivity to zinc paste by applying it to a small area of skin. If after 10 minutes after the test application redness, itching or burning does not appear, then such a strong drug is suitable for your skin , and no side effects from the paste will bother you.

Methods of application

Salicylic-zinc paste should be used as follows:

  1. Pre-cleanse the skin of dirt and makeup.
  2. Apply the paste with a cotton swab to problem areas.

It is not recommended to apply the product all over the face, as the consistency of the product is quite thick and greasy, which will create discomfort. It is best to use the paste at night for a long time. The course of treatment is at least a month.

If there are a large number of inflammatory elements, it is recommended to apply the composition 3 times a day in a thin layer.

The salicylic-zinc preparation can also be used in combination with other components and applied as a mask for 15–20 minutes. To do this, you can prepare an anti-inflammatory composition, which includes this paste and aspirin. The following sequence of actions must be followed:

  1. Dissolve 2 tablets of regular aspirin in warm boiled water (about half a teaspoon of liquid is needed).
  2. Place 0.5 tsp in a glass bowl. salicylic-zinc composition.
  3. Mix pre-dissolved aspirin into it until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.
  4. Apply to a previously cleansed area of the face for 20 minutes.
  5. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

This mask can be done once a week. Thanks to the aspirin included in its composition, the effect of zinc and salicylic acid will be enhanced. You can make similar masks by adding Levomycetin to the paste, which will help increase the antibacterial effect. The preparation algorithm is the same, only Levomycetin tablets will have to be crushed manually, and only then dissolved in water.

A mask based on salicylic-zinc paste has a dense consistency

Contraindications and possible harm

This anti-acne product has virtually no contraindications. However, during pregnancy and breastfeeding it is better to abstain from such a composition. The main caveats are also:

  • dermatitis of unknown origin;
  • presence of burns;
  • open wounds;
  • intolerance to the main components;
  • dry seborrhea of long duration.

In addition, you should not apply the paste to flaky areas, if any.

Side effects when using the drug are rare, but in some cases the following skin reactions may occur:

If after using the product any unpleasant sensations or visible changes appear on the skin, then you should stop treatment with this product and find an alternative way to eliminate acne.

The product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Differences between zinc ointment and paste

The difference between a paste and a zinc-based ointment is that the paste has a thicker consistency than an ointment, since the paste contains a larger number of powder components, which contribute to a faster delivery of active substances into the skin and more dosed and gradual treatment, causing this effect , zinc paste, unlike ointment, is safer when it comes into contact with the skin, and when a small amount of paste gets into the blood, zinc ointment has a stronger effect on the skin, and is more suitable for medium type acne, as well as for severe purulent or red acne acne.

Zinc acne ointment Application

The composition of zinc ointment, in addition to zinc oxide, includes salicylic acid, which eliminates itching, relieves pain and inflammation, and is a fairly common remedy in the treatment of various types of acne and skin diseases. It is also used in the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, wound healing and other skin inflammations in animals.

The drug destroys Demodex mites, which are a fairly common cause of acne, and has an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect.

If applied to the skin for a sufficiently long time, zinc ointment can cause an addictive effect to the drug.

Many people suffer from acne (acne). Of course, cosmetic preparations also help to cope with acne. But sometimes they are powerless. Then medications come to the rescue. One of them will be salicylic-zinc paste.

This drug has been used in the treatment of acne and pimples for many years in a row.

Reviews about the product

Advantages: cheap, effective Disadvantages: the ointment cannot be washed off with plain water, it can dry out the skin if you apply it all over your face. I have problem skin. Severe rashes on the face began for 12-13 years. Now I’m 28 and still have the skin of a teenager, although previously I had acne on my face, but now I’m trying to get rid of acne. When I was in high school, kind people advised me to use salicylic-zinc ointment. It turned out to be a godsend for me and I have been successfully using it for more than 10 years.

Advantages: Low price, available in any pharmacy, high-quality effect Disadvantages: None This paste is a kind of small miracle that is always in the home medicine cabinet. If some uninvited guest suddenly appears on the skin, for example a pimple or a small wound, or a chapped lip, then only this paste will come to the rescue. It promotes healing faster than any other remedy I have tried. This happens due to the fact that when applied to a damaged area or pimple, it quickly dries it out and it heals itself, and does not begin to grow, as is usually the case. My wife constantly uses it for cosmetic purposes. As soon as you notice some redness on your face, you immediately apply the paste and it will soon disappear. This little life-saving remedy costs only 18 rubles and can be found in any pharmacy. It is sold without a doctor's prescription. It lasts for a long time, since there is no need to apply a large amount of paste or rub it in. The shelf life is also decent.

Advantages: price; dries out acne; relieves inflammation; Disadvantages: not found; I first learned about salicylic-zinc paste (Lassara paste) as a remedy against acne. Due to the fact that rashes often appear on the skin, I became interested in this product. The first time I applied it to a newly inflamed area of skin. AND OH A MIRACLE. In the morning, the inflammation decreased significantly and a pimple did not develop. Since I was unable to cure the problem of acne and pimples from the inside, I began to fight it from the outside. I know that in this way I will not remove the very reason for the appearance of pimples and blackheads, but if you apply Lassara paste to the inflamed area of the skin in time, the pimple will not linger for long and there will be no wound left on the skin. Also, if you have frequent acne breakouts, you can use this paste regularly at night. I directly apply it all over my face, after cleansing the skin, and rinse thoroughly. The face becomes so bright, in the morning it looks very fresh, and the skin is smooth, like a baby’s.

Salicylic-zinc paste is an effective acne treatment that brings quick results. With regular use of the composition, the skin becomes matte, the number of rashes decreases and their reappearance is prevented. In addition, it eliminates oily sheen due to increased sebum secretion.

Many people suffer from acne (acne). Of course, cosmetic preparations also help to cope with acne. But sometimes they are powerless. Then medications come to the rescue. One of them will be salicylic-zinc paste.

Composition, benefits for skin

The main active ingredient here is zinc oxide . It is included in many ointments for the treatment of skin diseases. Including for acne treatment.

Zinc oxide has not only a disinfectant, but also an astringent property, which helps fight rashes - purulent and red, inflamed. Other ingredients include starch and petroleum jelly .

The second active substance is salicylic acid . It has good anti-inflammatory properties and an antibacterial effect. It also helps dry out pimples and speeds up recovery.

Salicylic-zinc acne paste helps fight rashes on the face, neck, décolleté, back and other parts of the body. With regular use, you can overcome not only acne, but also fungus on the skin, eliminate itching, and soften rough areas.

Salicylic-zinc paste is an invention of the 19th century. The preparation formula was created by a scientist named Lassar, which is why the drug is sometimes called Lassar's paste.

The product is available in the form of a white or slightly yellow ointment, odorless with a greasy base. Both active components not only complement, but also enhance each other’s action, which helps fight acne of the first and second severity.

Indications for use: acne, pimples, acne, the presence of spots after squeezing out ulcers.

Skin restoration after using zinc ointment

Zinc ointment, for all its effectiveness against acne, dries the skin quite strongly. Therefore, when using it, you must follow certain rules:

  • Do not use cosmetics together with zinc ointment.
  • Rinse off with warm water.
  • After cleansing the ointment, moisturize the skin with cream.

Experience shows that this ointment very effectively combats the main problem of adolescents - acne. But it is often necessary to use complex therapy for the desired effect to be achieved. It has no side effects or contraindications, which allows any teenager to try its effect on themselves. But, in order not to waste time, it is best to first consult with dermatologists who will put the patient on the right path.

In the instructions for zinc paste for acne, we find that this product is intended for use for skin diseases such as dermatitis, burns of varying degrees, eczema, as well as acne of all stages and types of rashes.

Instructions for acne

Salicylic-zinc paste for acne should be used up to 6 times a day. The drug should be applied only to inflamed areas. This is exactly what the instructions for use recommend.

That's right - spot application on acne, blemishes or other inflammations on the skin. Before applying the medicine to the skin, it must be thoroughly cleaned of cosmetics and other types of contaminants.

It must be remembered that salicylic-zinc paste cannot be combined with other drugs for the treatment of acne. Therefore, dermatologists recommend using this remedy alone, without the additional use of other acne medications. Also, during treatment you should avoid applying decorative cosmetics to the skin.

How to use for acne

Salicylic-zinc paste is used according to the instructions not only for acne on the face, but also for rashes on other parts of the body.

It is recommended to apply the drug up to 6 times a day . But this is not always the case. The paste is too greasy, does not absorb well, and leaves marks on clothes.

Therefore, dermatologists recommend using this treatment twice a day - morning and evening. Moreover, each time after application it should not be washed off.

In the morning, applied residues should be wiped off with a damp cloth, but not earlier than an hour after application.

On weekends, when you don’t have to go outside, you can get rid of a single pimple in just one day. To do this, it is recommended to apply ointment to the pimple every 2 hours. By morning there will be no trace of him left.

How to use for age spots

The medicine is used for age spots . The effectiveness of this drug can again only be explained by its composition.

Zinc oxide and salicylic acid in the composition have an excellent whitening effect. At the same time, exfoliation of the upper layer of the epidermis occurs, on which the spots remain.

Treatment of age spots should be carried out several times a day. The medicine is applied only pointwise, avoiding contact with healthy skin.

And to get the effect much faster and last better, it is recommended to mix it with any face cream.

How to use for sweating

The paste is used not only for acne spots, but also in the treatment of excessive sweating .

Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, as this condition is also called, most often develops in the armpits, on the soles of the feet, on the back, and on the hands.

The effectiveness of salicylic-zinc paste against sweat can be explained simply. This is a combination of antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, drying effect. All this helps normalize the functioning of the sweat glands. This means excessive sweating will be a thing of the past.

Salicylic-zinc paste should be used in the treatment of hyperhidrosis every day after a shower and only on dry skin.

Winston Churchill, who himself suffered from psoriasis, promised to erect a monument made of pure gold to the person who would determine the cause of the disease and find an effective remedy for its treatment. Unfortunately, there are still no candidates. Nevertheless, there are means, the use of which allows you to achieve stable remission. Many of them can be used at home.

What kind of disease is this?

Psoriasis is a recurrent disease with a chronic course, the main manifestation of which is a rash in the form of spots and peeling of the skin. Sometimes accompanied by damage to the lymph nodes, joints, muscles, bones, and neurological changes. The therapy provided involves a set of measures aimed at eliminating provoking factors and relieving symptoms of the disease. There are quite effective ways to treat psoriasis at home.

Causes

This disease is essentially an abnormal reaction of the body to external irritants, as a result of which the top layer of the skin dies faster than it should normally. Typically, the duration of the cell division cycle is 3-4 weeks. With psoriasis, it is reduced to 4-5 days.

The causes of the disease have not yet been clarified. Currently, experts are more inclined to the theory of the hereditary multifactorial nature of psoriasis. In other words, its development is based not on one reason, but on a whole complex:

  • genetic predisposition;
  • violation of metabolic processes;
  • immunological changes;
  • disturbances in the functioning of the endocrine system;
  • neurological disorders;
  • stress.

With all the variety of existing theories about the origin of the disease, one thing can be said with certainty: psoriasis is not an infectious disease and it is impossible to catch it.

Symptoms

Psoriasis occurs in outbreaks. There are three stages in its course:

  1. Progression.
  2. Stationary stage.
  3. Regression.

The onset of psoriasis is acute. Small bright red spots appear on the skin, increasing along the periphery and reaching the size of a coin. Merging with each other, they form psoriatic plaques. Most often, the rashes are localized on the scalp, elbows, knees, and the front surface of the legs. In approximately 1/3 of cases, itching and a feeling of tightness of the skin appear.

Psoriasis rashes have three characteristic features, called the psoriatic triad:

  1. The stearin stain phenomenon: grayish-white scales form on the surface of the skin, which can be easily removed by scraping.
  2. Film terminal phenomenon: further scraping reveals a smooth pink surface.
  3. The phenomenon of pinpoint bleeding: droplets of blood appear on a smooth exposed surface.

If symptoms of psoriasis occur, you should consult a dermatologist. Once the diagnosis is made, an appropriate course of treatment is prescribed. At the same time, treatment is carried out at home.

How to do home treatment

Today, it is impossible to cure psoriasis forever either in medical institutions or at home. The goal of the therapy is to control its course. Prolongation of the remission stage is achieved with the help of oral medications and topical medications to relieve symptoms. This:

  • medicinal ointments, creams;
  • lotions;
  • shampoos;
  • herbal infusions;
  • baths with the addition of herbal infusions;
  • UV irradiation

Principles of home therapy

To successfully treat psoriasis at home, you must follow certain rules:

  • Use prescribed medications regularly, strictly following the instructions.
  • If the symptoms are mild, you can limit yourself to light remedies with herbal extracts (for example, aloe vera). In severe cases of the disease, the use of hormonal drugs is necessary.
  • Using special creams, maintain a normal level of skin moisture.
  • After softening the crusts, carefully and very carefully remove loose ones. Removing crusts allows for more intense absorption of medicated creams and lotions.
  • Follow the prescribed sunbathing and UV therapy schedule exactly.
  • To get rid of the manifestations of psoriasis, you should use simple remedies whenever possible. At home, it is not recommended to use several drugs and ointments at the same time, since such an approach makes it impossible to determine the effectiveness of one specific drug.
  • Between courses of treatment you need to take a break - from 1 month to six months.
  • If a child has psoriasis, it is first necessary to identify the triggering factors and eliminate them. Sometimes following a diet is sufficient to treat a disease.
  • Periodically contact your doctor or specialized centers, especially if the symptoms of the disease are severe. Be interested in new developments in the treatment of psoriasis and consult with specialists regarding the advisability of their use.

Ointments and creams

When treating psoriasis at home, it is necessary to use ready-made medications. Since many of them have a rather strong effect and have a number of contraindications and side effects, consultation with a specialist is required before using them.

Hormonal drugs

This group of drugs is used in severe cases of the disease. They help to quickly improve the patient's condition, but the effect is not long-lasting. In addition, prolonged use of these ointments provokes serious disorders of the liver, kidneys, and cardiovascular system. Another problem is the high likelihood of addiction and withdrawal effects of the drug if it is necessary to stop using it. Another negative point: hormonal ointments in most cases provoke the development of psoriatic arthritis.

For psoriasis, a fairly wide range of hormonal ointments are used, which are grouped according to the active substance.

Active substance – Triamcinolone

Ointments: Ftoderm, Kenalog, Berlicort, Polcortolon, Fluorocort.

Action: antiallergic, antipruritic, anti-inflammatory.

Side effects: skin irritation, increased itching, eczema. With prolonged use, the likelihood of atrophic and infectious skin lesions increases.

Active substance – Flumethasone, Fluocinolone acetonide, Fluocortolone

Ointments: Lorinden, Lokasalen, Sinaflan, Flucinar, Flucort, Sinoderm, Ultralan.

Have you been trying to get rid of PSORIASIS for many years?

Action: antipruritic, antiallergic, antiexudative.

Side effects: itching, burning, hypopigmentation, stretching or atrophy of the skin. Long-term use leads to systemic disorders.

Active substance – Hydrocortisone

Ointments: Hydrocortisone, Hyoxysone, Corteid, Sopolcort, Daktacort, Lokoid, Sulfodecortem.

Action: suppresses the increased formation of connective tissue in areas of inflammation.

Side effects: systemic disorders.

Active substance – Betamethasone

Ointments: Betazon, Beloderm, Belogent, Celeston, Betasalik, Diprospan, Diprosalik, Betnovate.

Action: anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative. Ointments reduce the permeability of vascular walls.

Side effects: increased dry skin, prickly heat, burning, skin atrophy, allergic dermatitis. The development of systemic disorders is possible.

Non-hormonal ointments

At home, psoriasis can also be treated with non-hormonal medications. They have a less pronounced effect than glucocorticosteroids, but in many cases the results obtained last for a longer time. In addition, non-hormonal drugs do not lead to serious consequences or addiction.

Ointments with salicylic acid

Salicylic ointment, Salicylic-zinc paste.

They have a keratolytic, local irritating, antiseptic effect. They reduce the severity of the inflammatory process, soften the stratum corneum of the skin and promote its exfoliation. Salicylic ointment is used to eliminate peeling. The paste is prescribed depending on the depth of the inflammatory process.

Ointments with zinc

Zinc ointment, zinc paste.

They have a drying, anti-inflammatory, adsorbent, astringent, and antiseptic effect. They reduce inflammation, relieve irritation, and form a protective barrier to prevent the negative effects of environmental factors on damaged skin.

Ointments with tar

To treat psoriasis at home, products containing pine, birch, juniper tar, and coal tar are often used.

The most popular of them: Antipsorin, Colloidin, Alfozil, Anthrasulfonic ointment, Anthramin ointment, Berestin.

They have an anti-inflammatory, irritant, disinfectant effect. Improve blood supply to the affected area and stimulate skin regeneration.

Since they have a pronounced local irritating effect, you need to start by applying small doses to small areas of the body. If the patient tolerates the drug well, the dosage can be gradually increased.

In the summer, products containing tar should be used very carefully, since tar has photosensitizing properties, as a result of which exposure to sunlight can lead to the development of allergies.

Vitamin D ointments

Psoriasis can be treated at home with products containing synthetic analogues of vitamin D3.

Psorkutan, Daivonex (Calcipotriol). The action of these ointments is based on suppressing the proliferation of keratinocytes. The drugs do not lead to atrophy of the skin and provide a lasting effect. Remission can last more than a year. To increase efficiency, simultaneous use of UV irradiation is recommended. The effect of Calcipotriol on calcium metabolism is approximately 100 times weaker than that of vitamin D3. The drug should not be used simultaneously with ointments containing salicylic acid.

Oil preparations

The most commonly used: Naftaderm, Neftesan, Ichthyol-naphthalan ointment, Naftalan ointment, Losterin. Ointments eliminate itching, have an exfoliating, absorbable, and moderate analgesic effect. Caution should be exercised when using them at home. During the period of exacerbation of psoriasis, with anemia, renal failure, it is better to be treated with safer means, since drugs containing petroleum sometimes cause complications of these conditions. In addition, they can lead to increased itching, redness, increased dryness of the skin, and furunculosis.

Vitamin ointments

Aekol is a combination preparation with vitamins A and E, beta-carotene, and soybean oil. The ointment helps improve metabolism, normalizes tissue trophism, accelerates the regeneration process, and has a wound-healing effect. Videstim - contains retinol, effectively eliminates dry skin and flaking, stimulates skin regeneration, proliferation of epithelial cells, slows down the process of keratinization.

Preparations with solid oil

It is also possible to cure psoriasis at home with the help of purified solid oil and drugs based on it, such as Kartalin, Magnipsor, Cytopsor, Antipsoriasis. Thanks to deep penetration into the skin, they achieve a pronounced therapeutic effect. Solid oil ointments normalize metabolic processes in epidermal cells and have anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and keratolytic effects. Since grease and a number of natural components of ointments can cause allergies, it is recommended to conduct a test before starting use.

Internal therapy

To cure psoriasis at home, or more precisely, to alleviate symptoms, it is recommended to take tablets along with the use of ointments. This treatment turns out to be more effective than local treatment alone.

When the disease worsens, antihistamines are prescribed. If the patient suffers from sleep disorders, you can use sedatives with a mild effect: Diazolin. Suprastin, Fenkarol. New generation drugs are very popular: Zyrtec, Claritin, Semprex, Telfast, Erius.

Psoriasis may be accompanied by disruption of the normal functioning of the digestive system. In such cases, enzyme preparations are prescribed: Creon, Festal, Panzinorm.

To protect the liver, it is recommended to take Essentiale, Karsil, Silymar.

To detoxify the body, Enterosgel, Polysorb, Enterodes are prescribed.

When an acute infection occurs, it is necessary to take antibiotics: penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides. Their use at home, like taking all other medications, is possible only on the recommendation of the attending physician. The pain syndrome that occurs as a result of complications of the inflammatory process in psoriasis can be eliminated with the help of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: Xefocam, Nurofen, Naise.

How and with what else can this disease be treated? Recently, Chinese drugs have become very popular. These are capsules and ointments that, as manufacturers claim, have miraculous properties. Many of them are not registered in the Russian Federation and are distributed illegally. Dealers claim that the products contain exclusively Chinese herbs. However, laboratory studies show that in most cases these drugs contain glucocorticosteroids, and their uncontrolled use cannot even be called harmless.

Treatment of psoriasis on the head

At home, you can quite successfully cure psoriasis on the scalp. How to do it? Use ready-made shampoos, ointments or folk remedies.

Important rules to follow during home therapy:

  1. Treat not the hair, but the scalp.
  2. Avoid damaging the skin (scratching, puncturing).
  3. After softening the skin with shampoo, remove only loose scales.
  4. To control the process of exfoliation of the skin, the head should be washed with a special shampoo as often as required.
  5. Rub medicinal products not into the hair, but into the skin.
  6. While washing your hair, whisk the shampoo until foamy and leave for 5-10 minutes, then rinse.

For treatment at home, the following remedies for psoriasis on the scalp have proven themselves to be effective:

  • Mild shampoos containing coal tar: Polytar, Neutrogena T/Gel, Zetar. They have a specific smell and slightly color the hair. Some products containing coal tar are recommended to be left on for several hours and then rinsed off thoroughly.
  • Shampoos with zinc pyrithione: Head and Shoulders, Danex, Libriderm zinc. With their help, you can treat a mild form of psoriasis. Zinc reduces the number of dead skin cells and reduces hair loss. Many of these products also contain allantoin, which softens the scalp and speeds up the healing process.
  • Shampoos with chloroxin (Capitrol) and selenium sulfide (Selsun, Exsel). Quite effective for mild psoriasis.
  • Products containing ketoconazole. The most popular of them is Nizoral. Has an antifungal effect, relieves skin itching and flaking.

Baby shampoos: HIPP, Johnson's Baby, Baby Skin Care, “Me and Mom.” Due to the absence of toxic components, fragrances and dyes in the composition, they can be used to treat psoriasis at home as safely as possible:

  • Ointments with anthralin: Dritho-Scalp, Lasan. Anthralin is one of the most popular treatments for psoriasis. By reducing cell proliferation, this substance reduces the severity of symptoms.
  • Corticosteroid solution Synalar (1% fluocinolone acetonide) can cure psoriasis with a fairly severe course, but in some cases it provokes a worsening of symptoms. Its use at home is recommended only as prescribed by a doctor. The maximum duration of the course is 2 weeks.

What traditional medicine advises

  • For psoriasis of the scalp, natural oils are most often used from folk remedies: olive, peanut, mineral, tea tree, rosemary, cypress. To soften the skin, rub them in at night, put on a cap, and wash off with medicated shampoo in the morning. Red and white clay, onion juice, and nettle decoction are very useful.
  • The following remedy helps well: take one spoon each of grape and almond oil and 2 spoons of coconut oil. Add honey and cognac (a teaspoon each) and a few drops of essential oils: lavender, eucalyptus. The mixture is slightly heated by holding in a water bath, and then applied to the scalp. This mask must be kept for at least 2 hours.
  • Psoriasis on the scalp can be treated with sea salt. How to do it? Before washing your hair, massage your scalp for 5 minutes, rubbing salt into it. To increase the effectiveness of the procedure, it is recommended to soak the salt with a few drops of essential oil (rosemary, tea tree, eucalyptus).
  • How else can you treat psoriasis on the scalp? A good result is obtained by rinsing your hair with water with the addition of essential oils. You need to add 10 drops of oil to a liter of warm water. Use the resulting product as a rinse aid.
  • Another recipe: mix burdock oil, calendula tincture and 2 yolks. Apply to the scalp, rinse after 2-3 hours.

Nail psoriasis

If psoriasis affects the nails, the following rules must be followed:

  1. Trim your nails short to prevent the appearance of hangnails and the development of infection, which complicate the course of the disease.
  2. Before trimming your nails, soak them in warm water. Handle the ends carefully: they must be completely smooth so as not to injure the skin.
  3. The areas of skin under the nails should not be cleaned too intensively or often: this provokes the accumulation of psoriatic scales.
  4. Do not trim, tear or bite the skin around your nails.
  5. To protect the nail plate, it is recommended to use colorless varnish.
  6. Take vitamin complexes with tocopherol and ascorbic acid. They normalize the course of immune reactions and protect cell membranes from damage.

At home, for the treatment of psoriasis, special ointments are used that affect the course of immune reactions. The most effective drugs are steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (glucocorticosteroids): Diprosalik, Lorinden, Sinaflan, Dermovate. They are almost not absorbed into the skin, so there are no side effects. The course duration is on average 14-30 days.

This form of the disease can also be treated using folk remedies:

  • Arrange hand baths using oatmeal or corn starch, previously diluted with warm water.
  • Rub liquid vitamin A into your nails daily.
  • Lubricate your nails with sea buckthorn oil three times a day. It is also recommended to take the oil orally (a teaspoon).

Herbs

At home, herbal infusions can be used to treat psoriasis. In many cases, they turn out to be quite effective and can significantly reduce the severity of the symptoms of the disease.

How exactly can psoriasis be treated?

  • When localized on the scalp, the juice of golden mustache leaves is often used. It is rubbed into the scalp, and after washing, the hair is rinsed with a decoction of the plant.
  • Sarsaparilla roots (20 g) are infused in a liter of water for 8-10 hours, then boiled for 20 minutes and filtered. One part is drunk hot, and the second is drunk during the day. The duration of the course is 20 days.
  • Lubricate the affected areas with the ash of rosehip branches, mixed in equal parts with Vaseline.
  • Take black elderberry infusion (2 tsp + 5000 ml water) three times a day, half a glass. Drink fir water in the same way.
  • Pour white wine over finely chopped young sunflower baskets and leave for 2 days. Strain the prepared product and use it to moisten inflamed areas. You can apply bandages and keep them on for 2-3 hours. If the skin of the face is damaged, sunflower infusion is used for washing.
  • For nail psoriasis, herbal baths with infusions of celandine, nettle, elecampane, string, St. John's wort, and calamus are very effective.

Solarium

In some cases, a home solarium becomes a very effective way to treat psoriasis. The device is designed to compensate for the lack of UV radiation, obtain a beautiful soft tan, and prevent a number of diseases.

The attitude of specialists towards the use of solariums to eliminate the symptoms of psoriasis is ambiguous. For many patients, ultraviolet light has a beneficial effect: peeling, itching decreases, and plaques disappear. However, another option is also possible: exacerbation of the disease.

The reason for such a variety of body reactions lies in the diversity of the disease.

In the case of so-called summer psoriasis, the acute phase occurs in the warm season, and remission occurs in winter. With this form, the solarium has a negative effect on the course of the disease. UV irradiation is not indicated for the development of erythroderma, regardless of whether it is caused by psoriasis or another disease.

In other forms of the disease, the solarium generally has a positive effect and, after preliminary consultation with a specialist, can be used for treatment at home.

By the way, one of the theories about the origin of psoriasis states that its development is associated with the body’s reaction to a lack of ultraviolet radiation. It is also supported by the fact that the disease almost never occurs among residents of the tropics and often disappears among Europeans who moved to tropical latitudes.

Solarium is not recommended when using ointments, solutions and lotions containing tar or psoralen. These substances increase skin sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation.

Diet

An important condition for effective home treatment of psoriasis is adherence to a special diet. It is necessary to exclude from the diet:

  • chocolate and confectionery with chocolate cream;
  • coffee;
  • spicy;
  • citrus;
  • products containing preservatives, food colors, flavors;
  • red vegetables and fruits;
  • carbonated drinks;
  • alcohol.

You should also reduce your consumption of meat, eggs, sugar, and stop smoking.

After the symptoms disappear, you can gradually begin to consume some prohibited foods, monitoring the body’s reaction. If symptoms increase, the product should be eliminated again.

Prevention of exacerbations

To avoid relapse of the disease and worsening symptoms, patients with psoriasis must follow several important rules:

  • Protect skin from exposure to chemicals and other aggressive factors. When doing housework, wear household gloves.
  • Do not stretch or rub the skin when washing.
  • Give preference to the shower: baths often lead to increased dryness of the skin. When taking a bath, the water should not be hot. It is recommended to add herbal infusions to it.
  • Use medicinal products or neutral soap.
  • Do not remove dead skin by force.
  • Avoid infections entering the body, as well as injuries and other damage to the skin. If they occur, begin treatment immediately.
  • When psoriasis is localized on the scalp, use soft combs with rounded teeth.
  • Limit your time in the sun. To protect against sun exposure, use products with UV filters.
  • Do not wear tight shoes, hats, clothes, watches: they irritate and injure the skin, leading to complications of the disease.
  • To maintain a normal level of air humidity and prevent the skin from drying out, use special home air humidifiers.
  • If possible, avoid stress: it increases the severity of psoriasis symptoms.
  • When treating at home, do not forget about the possibility of a negative reaction to medications and the incompatibility of some of them. Before using any product, consult a specialist.

But still, salicylic-zinc paste is usually used for acne. It is for this purpose that medicine is most often purchased.

Dermatologists prescribe the medicine quite often, because it copes well with subcutaneous pimples, blackheads, rashes, and acne marks. Moreover, it acts not only effectively, but also quickly.

Positive and negative aspects of use

The medicine for acne spots and the rashes themselves helps just fine. But only if you start treatment at the earliest stage of the disease.

And as proof, you can read a lot of reviews, as well as look at photographs before and after using the paste to treat acne.

After completing the full course of treatment, acne does not appear on the face for a long time. This means that the medicine has not only a therapeutic, but also a preventive effect.

Many people like this product because of its excellent effectiveness. And also because of the minimum price.

However, salicylic-zinc acne paste has its drawbacks. For example, it cannot be used if you apply cosmetics on top of this product. In addition, to get the best results, it is recommended to use the product up to 6 times a day. And this is quite inconvenient.

The second negative factor in use is too much density. It is poorly absorbed. Therefore, the answer to the question of how to use salicylic-zinc paste for acne will be this. To avoid clogging the pores, it is recommended to wipe off the paste with a napkin some time after application.

Ointment "Sulsena"

Along with zinc and sulfur ointment, this cream is also used in the fight against seborrhea. 1% of the drug is used to prevent the disease, and 2% is used directly for treatment.

Action: disulfide contained in the product reduces the secretion of excess subcutaneous sebum, corrects the appearance of the skin, removes dandruff, and strengthens hair follicles.

Usage: the cream is thoroughly rubbed onto washed hair. After 10-15 minutes, the drug must be washed off with clean water.

Contraindications: pregnancy, allergy to the composition.

Can it be used during pregnancy?

Dermatologists today do not recommend that pregnant women use salicylic-zinc paste to treat acne. Although the medicine is applied to the skin, some of it may enter the bloodstream and harm a developing baby.

You can use the medicine during pregnancy only after the recommendation of a doctor.

The same applies to the period of feeding a newborn with breast milk (lactation). Once in breast milk, and through it into the baby’s body, salicylic acid can cause a severe allergic reaction and digestive disorders.

Cost of the drug

The price of salicylic-zinc paste varies from pharmacy to pharmacy. But it is the low price of the medicine that attracts doctors and those who constantly have acne on their face, décolleté or neck.

The salicylic-zinc paste itself in a 25 gram jar costs no more than 40 rubles. Its analogue, zinc ointment, can be purchased for 35 rubles. And Galmanin powder is even cheaper - only 33 rubles.

Salicylic-zinc paste for acne. Reviews

Olga: “When acne first started appearing on my face, I decided not to experiment with expensive medications. I immediately bought salicylic-zinc paste on the doctor’s advice. And now I use it when necessary. As soon as redness begins, they immediately lubricate the area and in the morning there is nothing left of the pimple.”

Natalya: “I always have salicylic-zinc paste at home. I use it to treat ulcers and to lubricate small wounds. The drug is excellent! I recommend to everyone!".

Stepan: “I didn’t like Lassara’s pasta. It's too greasy, doesn't wash off well, and is generally kind of unpleasant. Although yes, it doesn’t smell like, for example, Vishnevsky’s ointment.”

How to take it for children?

In order to prevent diaper dermatitis in infants, the ointment should be applied to the skin under a diaper or diaper, before the onset of symptoms of inflammation and irritation. It is especially worth using it at night, when the child may be in wet diapers for a long time.

If signs of the disease have already appeared, the drug should be applied to damaged areas of the skin up to 3 or more times a day as needed, usually at the next diaper or diaper change.
