Lack of vitamins acne, what vitamins are needed for acne?

External skin care is not always enough to make it look fresh and beautiful. Sometimes you need to treat problems from the inside. Most often, the appearance of acne signals some kind of internal problem.

Periodically, it is necessary to replenish the supply of vitamins so that the skin feels great and does not become covered with unpleasant rashes.

Now there are a lot of individual vitamins and vitamin complexes. If you choose the right vitamins for your skin against acne, after some time they will go away completely.

What vitamins for acne are best to buy?

When going to the pharmacy, you should remember about individual intolerance to the components and carefully study the composition, especially the list of auxiliary components.

In addition, it is worth paying attention to the features of dietary supplements:

  • "Evisent Aknesent" complex for clean and healthy skin, "Doppelherz Anti-Acne" for clean and healthy skin and "Nagipol 2" contain brewer's yeast - one of the most effective remedies for acne.
  • All “beauty vitamins” act on nails, hair and skin, but “Vitrum Beauty Plus”, Lady’s Formula for hair, skin and nails enhanced formula, Solgar “Skin, Nails, Hair”, “Complivit Radiance” are most effective in all three areas .
  • But the developers of Doppelhertz Anti-Acne focused specifically on ridding the skin of various types of rashes.
  • "Vitrum Beauty Plus" contains iodine, so it is suitable for anyone who wants to compensate for the deficiency of this mineral.
  • "Doppelhertz" with hyaluronic acid has a lifting effect.
  • Solgar "Skin, Nails, Hair" and Lady's Formula boast natural composition.

When placing your hopes on dietary supplements, you should not forget about the other components of clear skin - an active lifestyle, a balanced diet, and the health of your internal organs. It is these “three pillars” that are the key to beauty, and nutritional supplements only help in case of a lack of vitamins, minerals and other vital substances in the body.

Signs of shortage

It is easy to determine by a person’s appearance that he lacks vitamins.

The most common signs:

  1. The skin may become dry and sensitive, sometimes flaking. In some cases, you may become fatter than usual. Various rashes and inflammations appear. Cracks and wounds may form in the corners of the lips. Excessive skin pigmentation occurs.
  2. Hair becomes brittle, thin, dull and falls out a lot. Dandruff can appear even in those people who have never had it.
  3. Nails break and peel, become dull, lose their shine and turn yellow.
  4. The eyes are constantly red, irritation and itching are felt. There is a lack of moisture. At night and in the evening, visual acuity decreases.
  5. Any pressure or touch causes bruises to appear on the skin.
  6. Gastrointestinal problems: nausea, diarrhea.
  7. Dryness of all mucous membranes: mouth, nose, eyes, etc.

Treatment options

The first step is to stop taking Complivit if allergy symptoms appear. Further actions depend on the degree of manifestation of side symptoms.

Mild forms of allergies can be controlled by taking antihistamines. For allergic rhinitis, it is best to use nasal antiallergic drops, which eliminate excessive mucus secretion and normalize nasal breathing.

In case of severe manifestations of allergies (anaphylactic shock), you will need to immediately call an ambulance; self-medication will only aggravate the situation and can be fatal.

After providing first aid to the patient, you should consult an allergist. He will determine the cause of the pathological condition, namely, he will identify the vitamin allergen that caused a severe allergic reaction.

It is necessary to understand that it is impossible to predict an allergy to a drug; if you observe side symptoms, do not hesitate, consult a doctor.

L-LYSINE

L-lysine is an essential amino acid that is not produced by our body. Lysine's main role is in collagen formation and tissue repair, which can help with acne. However, some people also noted a negative effect. Why is that?

Research suggests that lysine may have positive effects on the skin, but some people may also be sensitive to it. Another reason for negative experiences may be that long-term consumption of L-lysine reduces blood levels of vitamin B6, which can contribute to new inflammation. The only way to know how L-Lysine affects your skin is by testing it on yourself.

Indications for use and contraindications

Vitamin therapy can be indicated not only for acne, but also for other dermatological pathologies: eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, hyperkeratosis, skin pigmentation and dermatitis.

Contraindications to the use of vitamin preparations may include:

  • tendency to allergic reactions, hypersensitivity to the components of the food additive;
  • hyperthyroidism;
  • rosacea;
  • chronic glomerulonephritis, acute infectious diseases of the kidneys and liver, renal and liver failure;
  • pregnancy, lactation;
  • malignant tumors;
  • acute pancreatitis, gastritis with high acidity, peptic ulcer of the duodenum and stomach;
  • congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, cardiosclerosis and other decompensated heart pathologies.

For acne in adolescents and pregnant women, vitamins are taken as prescribed by a doctor.

During pregnancy, it is better not to take vitamins for acne, as this can harm the fetus.

Dosages of vitamin and mineral preparations are selected depending on the indications and the recommended daily dose. The frequency of administration can be from 1 to 3 times a day.

SELENIUM

Selenium is an important element that can help with acne. Research has shown this beneficial effect of selenium on acne:

In 1990, scientists analyzed the blood of 37 men with inflammatory acne between the ages of 18 and 25 and compared it with the blood of another 37 men with clear skin. Men with acne had significantly lower selenium levels than healthy men. In acne sufferers it was 1.59 and 1.22, respectively, and in healthy men it was 1.80 and 1.36. Women with acne were also compared and the results were the same: 1.50 and 1.10 for women with acne and 1.93/1.34 for others.

These results were later confirmed by other studies.

HOW DOES SELENIUM WORK AGAINST ACNE?

First of all, selenium increases the levels of antioxidants in the blood, and antioxidants are critical for preventing pore clogging. In addition, selenium helps inhibit inflammation by reducing the activity of NF-kappa B, a transcription factor that stimulates the release of many inflammatory chemicals found behind acne. To increase its antioxidant effect, it is recommended to take selenium along with vitamin E.

Characteristic symptoms

With a mild allergy, the following symptoms may occur:

  • Itching, a strong burning sensation on the skin around the eyes, on the cheeks and in the lips
  • Congestion, pimples or blisters
  • Urticaria-type rash.

Very rarely, severe pathological conditions can develop, which are characterized by the development of angioedema:

  • Numbness of some areas of the skin and limbs
  • Epigastric pain, gastrointestinal dysfunction
  • Swelling of the face
  • Feeling of suffocation, hoarseness in the voice
  • Decreased blood pressure or loss of consciousness.

Such manifestations are very serious and threaten the patient’s life. It is necessary to seek medical help as soon as possible. In rare cases, anaphylactic shock is diagnosed during the use of Complivit.

In case of an overdose of the drug, manifestations similar to allergy symptoms may occur, but there are certain differences:

  • Dizziness and severe headaches
  • The occurrence of nausea and vomiting
  • Decreased appetite
  • Diarrhea.

Rashes from Complivit, Vitrum and Alphabet

Vitamins from the “Complivit” series are the most popular. They are often recommended by doctors and sold in any pharmacy.

Despite the fact that the manufacturer writes that all components were selected according to strict rules, from time to time those who took these pills experience acne on their faces.

The main reason is an allergic reaction to additional components. As well as dyes that are actively used in the production of vitamins from the “Complivit” series.

Acne from vitamins from the Vitrum series is a rare occurrence. This is a high-quality vitamin, but it is recommended to take it no more than a month.

In addition, it has been proven that consuming vitamins and alcohol only increases the load on the liver. And she is unable to remove toxins. Therefore, the cleansing function is transferred to the skin, where ulcers appear.

Vitamin preparations, including Alphabet, should not be taken at will. It is also recommended to visit a doctor and get blood tests before starting treatment.

It is important to remember that an excess of vitamins is not at all beneficial, as many people think.

Therefore, if acne appears on your face or body while taking any vitamin preparations, you must stop taking the pills and consult a dermatologist.

Dietary recommendations

Excessive consumption of saturated fats (such as fatty meats, whole milk, and chocolate) and hydrogenated fats (margarine and processed foods) may contribute to acne by increasing sebum production. These foods are metabolized by body acid and lead to hyperacidity. Foods that are high in refined carbohydrates (especially sugar) and low-calorie fiber can also stimulate sebum production, interfere with bacterial defenses, and cause acne. Food intolerances (especially nuts, colas and chocolate) can also contribute to acne. Additionally, medications that contain iodine, such as seaweed products and some medications, can cause acne. An elimination diet (or kinesiology test) can identify those food intolerances that cause acne.

To prevent acne

The following foods are rarely or not eaten at all:

  • Foods high in unsaturated fat: margarine, processed baked goods (baked goods, cookies), prepared foods.
  • Salty, fatty foods: potato chips, French fries.
  • Nuts: particularly salted almonds and peanuts.
  • White flour and sugar, cola.

Eat the following foods more often:

  • Raw vegetables and whole grains.
  • Fresh fruits and fruit juices (not from the store!).
  • Fresh fish and other seafood.

Vitamin masks

The following masks are effective for getting rid of pimples and acne scars:

  1. Protein. Separate 1 egg white from the yolk, beat until foam forms and carefully add 1 tbsp. l. starch. Add 3 ampoules of aloe extract or 1 tsp. plant juice. Pour in 1 ml (ampoule) of tocopherol. Keep on skin for 20 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
  2. With dimexide. Mix 1 tbsp. l. kaolin with 1 tsp. diluted dimexide (1:1 or 1:2 with water). Add 2 tsp. low-fat sour cream (10%) until a comfortable consistency is obtained. ZINC

Zinc is well known among acne patients for its excellent anti-pimple effects. Numerous studies have been conducted in recent decades that have demonstrated the beneficial effects of zinc on acne.

Turkish researchers compared zinc levels in patients with acne with zinc levels in people without acne. The study involved 56 people with clear skin and 94 with acne. According to the results, those with acne had 24% lower zinc levels than those without acne.

How exactly does zinc fight acne?

  • It protects against acne-causing bacteria;
  • it inhibits (prevents) pore contamination;
  • It reduces the effect of hormones on the skin;
  • It has a strong antioxidant effect;
  • It accelerates skin regeneration.

Unfortunately, zinc deficiency is common today, partly due to the processing of most foods and partly due to poor eating habits in most people. Therefore, it is necessary to take zinc in the form of dietary supplements. Especially for acne sufferers. According to the World Health Organization, the recommended daily intake for zinc is 15 mg for men and 12 mg for women.

But it's not just the amount, but also the form of zinc you take that matters, as not all forms have the same effect on acne. According to research, zinc picolinate and zinc methionine work best for acne because they have better bioavailability. External use of zinc ointment is also very helpful, as it very quickly draws out pus and heals acne.
