What is included in the preparations?
Both Bepanten and Panthenol contain the same active substance - dexpanthenol. This is a derivative of pantothenic acid or the well-known vitamin B5.
They should also be compared regarding the consistency of the composition. Its effectiveness on the skin depends on the thickness of the drug. Let us briefly consider the features characteristic of each type:
- Cream is a thick mass consisting of equal parts of oil and water. This composition ensures easy application to the body surface, rapid absorption, and moisturizes the skin without greasy shine.
- Spray is a sprayed drug that is used to treat burns or ulcers on the body. Apply in a stream onto the problem area. Foams upon contact with skin and is absorbed over time. Does not require contact with hands, as happens when rubbing.
- The ointment is a consistency consisting of only 20% water and 80% oil, which ensures instant penetration and nutrition of even the deep layers of the epithelium.
