Diamond peeling - what is it in cosmetology?

Diamond facial peeling
Diamond facial peeling is a salon cosmetic procedure. It aims to remove the top layer of skin. It is carried out using a special apparatus. As a rule, it has up to 10 different nozzles with a special coating. In particular, this is laser-processed diamond dust.

Depending on what problem bothers the client, one or another nozzle is selected. At the same time, the device has an additional vacuum system that draws dead skin into the device and removes all excess. In addition, the vacuum helps improve blood circulation, metabolic processes and reduces the likelihood of swelling.

The procedure is carried out to remove all dead skin cells, as well as cleanse the epidermis of all excess. By the way, it can be used to prepare for more complex procedures. Then the effect from them will be much better. At the same time, the device is able to improve the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, which leads to a slowdown in the aging process. Well, another goal is to even out the complexion. So with the help of the procedure it is quite possible to get rid of freckles and pigmentation.

It is important to note that the result is visible immediately after the procedure. Although slight swelling may appear on the skin, according to experts, it goes away within 24 hours.

Question answer

Diamond peeling does reduce pigmentation, but not to a significant extent. To achieve greater results, it is recommended to pay attention to chemical peeling.

Microdermabrasion is a light peeling that refreshes the skin by removing the topmost layer. It reduces fine wrinkles, acne marks, and improves skin tone. Dermabrasion is a deeper cleaning.

Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin, removing dead cells from the epidermis. A series of treatments will help reduce acne scars and wrinkles, but the procedure cannot eliminate deep-seated blemishes. If you're looking for more dramatic changes, you might want to consider lasers like Fraxel. Laser resurfacing is safe and perfectly removes acne scars and pigmentation.

Diamond peeling - when can it be done: indications

Indications for diamond peeling
Diamond peeling for the face has certain indications. Of course, this cannot always be done. It is advisable to resort to the procedure when there is really a need.

  • So, first of all, peeling is recommended when photoaging is observed. That is, when the skin begins to age from exposure to ultraviolet radiation. In addition, the procedure is also effective for the first appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation and small scars.
  • The procedure also helps with blackheads and pimples. This is due to the fact that the skin is cleaned at a deep level, and therefore various types of contaminants simply do not have a chance.
  • Another indication is the presence of something like a crust on the face, when the pores are enlarged and very clogged.
  • As for age, it is not recommended to do the procedure before 25-30 years of age. It all depends on the condition of the skin. So it’s better to first consult with a specialist.

Who is the procedure indicated for?

Cosmetologists say that the procedure is better for girls after 25-30 years. In this case, a positive effect will be noticeable.

Indications may be as follows:

1. Dry facial skin;

2. Enlarged pores, which constantly lead to the formation of blackheads and comedones;

3. Presence of age spots and freckles. I would like to dwell on this point in more detail. Experts assure that diamond peeling does not treat pigmentation, it only removes the top layer of skin, and the problem goes away faster. But only if you properly care for your skin after microdermabrasion;

4. Flabby, aging skin;

5. Small facial wrinkles.

Before the procedure, a consultation with a cosmetologist is necessary. The result depends on his professionalism. The specialist must correctly determine the type of problem and skin type and select the appropriate attachments.

Is it possible to do diamond peeling in summer? Cosmetologists advise carrying it out in autumn or early winter. After the procedure, the skin is tender and unprotected, so UV rays can cause serious problems, including severe burns and the appearance of age spots.

Diamond facial peeling: contraindications

As we have already said, diamond facial peeling is not allowed in every case. There are also certain contraindications to this procedure.

So, these include:

  • Inflammations, moles and warts. They can be damaged during the procedure, which will later lead to more complex consequences. So it is better to refuse the procedure
  • If the skin is too sensitive or the blood vessels are fragile , then the procedure should also not be performed so as not to walk around with bruises later.
  • Sores on the face. Since a vacuum technique is used, wounds should definitely not be present on the skin. This will damage them. Better wait until they pass
  • During exacerbations of various types of skin diseases, the procedure cannot be performed. Again, this will only harm the skin
  • Elevated body temperature is also a contraindication
  • If the body is prone to the appearance of scars . Purely aesthetically, it will end up looking ugly. And is it worth it? The skin will be clean but damaged
  • Even with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract or cardiovascular system, the procedure cannot be performed
  • You may be surprised, but if you are menstruating, you should also postpone the procedure.
  • Bronchial asthma, diabetes mellitus - peeling is prohibited
  • During pregnancy and lactation

Please also keep in mind that spring and autumn are not suitable for diamond peeling. This is due to the fact that during this period the tissues will be most exposed to the sun, because they lose protection in the form of keratinized skin. As a result, this can lead to too much sensitivity, and this is the best case scenario. At worst, pigmentation will appear or even serious burns will form.

Reviews

Users leave mostly positive reviews about this procedure. Dissatisfaction, as a rule, is caused only due to the incompetence of doctors and incorrectly selected methods.

If you do not correctly calculate the degree of impact or choose the wrong care products, the procedure can lead to some unpleasant consequences in the form of rashes, peeling and even small wounds on the skin.

But by contacting quality clinics, users can be sure that they will get the best results. We read what users write.

KATYA, 28 YEARS OLD, MOSCOW:

“I have never used peelings in my life - neither chemical, nor acidic, nor abrasive.
But, recently, I began to notice that my skin began to absorb creams worse, the masks no longer had the same moisturizing and nourishing effect, and even the eyebrow wrinkle began to appear. It’s too early to inject hyaluronic acid, I don’t even want to think about Botox, and massages no longer give results. The creams moisturize, but the effect is short. I decided to do a peeling. The choice fell on acid and diamond.

Given that the diamond also has a massage effect, I decided to start with it. And the result made me so happy that I decided to stop there.

After the first procedure, the cream began to be absorbed better, and after the second, the vertical wrinkle between the eyebrows smoothed out.

The doctor said that I came in on time, otherwise more sessions would have been needed, and maybe I would have had to use different means.

After the procedures, there was no dryness, burning, no irritation, and the skin did not peel. For now I’ll stick with diamond peeling, and then we’ll see.”

NATALIA, 35 YEARS OLD, St. Petersburg:

“I liked the procedure. It goes away painlessly. The main thing is that it does not require a long recovery.

The result is obvious: the skin has cleared, acne has disappeared. I will also visit a cosmetologist for diamond peeling.”

TINA, 30 YEARS OLD, KALININGRAD:

“I don’t have any serious skin problems yet, but age still makes itself felt.
Small wrinkles around the eyes, light horizontal lines on the forehead (already 3), and two vertical thin folds between the eyebrows. I used to use scrubs until I discovered such a thing as peeling. I used the first one on lactic acid and I really liked the effect. The skin has become more vibrant, somehow youthful in feel.

At first I visited two cosmetologists - one did massage, and the other did cosmetic skin treatments. Until I read somewhere online about diamond peeling, which is 2 in 1 - both peeling and massage.

The cost was reasonable, I looked at the photos before and after the procedure, read the reviews, and went in without hesitation. The effect is different from an acid peel, but the complexion is simply amazing.

I couldn’t get rid of wrinkles completely, of course, but the fact is that they became much less noticeable. Now I perform the procedure once a month, I’ve already done it 3 times and each time I like the result more and more.”

Diamond peeling - how it’s done: description of the procedure

To perform a diamond facial peel, special equipment is required. It is believed that the procedure can only be fully performed in a clinic or beauty salon. In many ways, the effect of the procedure is determined by the qualifications of the master, and therefore be sure to control how well the execution technology is followed.

The very first stage is preparation, when a physician assesses the condition of the skin and identifies problems. He needs to make sure that you understand what exactly awaits you and give advice. At the same time, a couple of weeks before the procedure, the patient herself should prepare:

  • Avoid creams and lotions containing retinoic and glycolic acid.
  • Stop using self-tanning sprays and tanning treatments
  • Do not use other cosmetic procedures

Moreover, the cosmetologist will recommend the optimal cleanser to prepare the skin for the procedure.

When the appointed date arrives, the main process is already carried out:

  • The doctor conducts an examination and asks you to lie down on the couch. The patient first dresses in a cap and gown.
  • Next, makeup residues and other impurities are removed from the face. As a rule, a special cleanser and a cotton swab are used for this.
  • To make the procedure more effective, the face is treated with a scrub with microgranules.
  • A special cold gel or vaporizer is used to steam the skin. The first option is better, because then the skin does not peel, and it itself does not become dehydrated. The steam method is already becoming a thing of the past.
  • Diamond peeling will not be able to cope with dense comedones, and therefore they are removed before the procedure. Finally, the face is treated with a vacuum device to remove all excess oil and dirt from the skin. Well, since the skin is already irritated, then you need to calm it down, which the specialist does with the help of a soothing mask.
  • Now the doctor begins the main stage. It determines what intensity of exposure is required. If the choice is made correctly, the doctor will treat even the most sensitive areas and get rid of wrinkles in the corners of the eyes. The procedure takes about 45 minutes. It doesn't cause any pain.
  • At the very end, a cold compress or cold cream is applied to the face to tighten the pores.
  • The procedure ends with a massage, as well as consultation on further care.

Not all stages can be used by a cosmetologist, because, for example, there may not be dense comedones on the face. Then there is no need to clean them.

Recovery after diamond peeling: facial care

Recovery after diamond peeling
For diamond facial peeling to have a good effect, it is important to properly care for your skin after the procedure. To do this, follow a few rules:

  • Always use sun protection, even if you are not going outside that day. Even windows let in enough light that it can harm your skin.
  • After the procedure, do not wet the skin for 6-8 hours.
  • Despite the fact that makeup can be applied immediately after the procedure, it is better to avoid it for a day. If you are not used to going out in public without makeup, then choose products that do not cause allergies. But avoid alcohol-based products for a couple of weeks.
  • For 1-2 days, do not rub your skin while washing. Moreover, give up skincare products for three days, that is, no creams, serums or tonics. The only exceptions are those products recommended by the doctor himself.
  • Since physical activity increases the production of sweat and oil, avoid intense workouts for a week.
  • During the day, do not touch your face, even with your hands. The skin is now very sensitive and has no protection, and therefore there is a risk of infection.

If you strictly follow all the rules, then there will be no bad consequences after the procedure.

Microdermabrasion is certainly safe when performed by an appropriate professional. Unfortunately, this is not a very effective treatment for acne scars and wrinkles. Microdermabrasion is a popular exfoliation procedure. It will definitely make your skin feel nice and smooth. With its help, other means will be able to better penetrate into the deeper layers. But you won’t be able to completely get rid of obvious skin imperfections.

A series of microdermabrasion treatments can reduce scars and fine lines.
Taking into account individual characteristics, the doctor will select the required number of sessions. But, as a rule, it is necessary to undergo 3 procedures to see clear results. Microdermabrasion is a safe, non-invasive exfoliation method that removes dead cells from the skin. There is no irritation or redness after the procedure. This is no longer a procedure of rejuvenation, but of healing. As has already become clear from the descriptions of the procedure, diamond peeling is a very effective technique. In the West, it has become widespread, given the fact that there are practically no age restrictions for it.

Among other advantages, the method of action on the skin should be highlighted - soft and gentle. For people who are trying to combine work and an active lifestyle with self-care, this is an ideal option.

While not many procedures can provide similar results, diamond peeling offers a number of benefits.

Skin care should be carried out with the mandatory use of nourishing creams.

Is one session enough?

This is decided by a specialist. It depends more on the results of the first session, the depth and complexity of the problem, how effective the regeneration mechanism is in the patient’s tissue. The doctor will make a prognosis only after the first procedure. Typically, light scars can be removed without a trace in about 3 procedures, and getting rid of deeper scars (defects) will take 2 or more sessions, sometimes up to 10.

There is not only diamond peeling for the face, but also for hands. This is a great option for those who want to improve their appearance and maintain youthful skin. The procedure allows you to get rid of pigmentation and wrinkles, as well as generally put your skin in order.

Hands are a part of the body that can give away age. Over the years, problems also appear on them - wrinkles, pigmentation, and so on. In principle, the procedure itself is no different, as is the preparation and care after it. The only difference is the body part.

What is the advantage of this technique

All patients who completed the diamond resurfacing course agreed on the advantages of diamond peeling compared to other resurfacing methods.

They are:

  • no need for anesthesia due to the painless and most gentle procedure;
  • safety of the procedure due to the absence of dust emission and the impossibility of its penetration into the pores of the skin, as well as the respiratory tract;
  • no age restrictions or certain skin characteristics;

  • the absence of a long recovery period allowing the patient to immediately begin performing his daily duties;

Which peeling is better - diamond or chemical?

Which peeling is better?
When you decide whether to choose a diamond peeling for the face or some other procedure, it is important to know how they differ. In particular, many are interested in which type to choose - diamond or chemical? In general, experts recommend choosing diamond.

The fact is that the chemical procedure is used only in difficult cases. It allows you to get rid of scars and deep wrinkles. In this case, it is carried out with a laser, which removes the epidermis and affects the upper layer of the skin. It will take time to recover from it - about one to two weeks. Among other things, the choice is made depending on what problems are planned to be solved.

Facial cleansing with aluminum oxide has been popular over the last 20 years. Crystals of this metal can be second only to diamond in hardness. They exfoliate well and do not cause allergies. In turn, diamond peeling is safe. There is no risk that small particles will get somewhere during the procedure. However, a doctor with insufficient experience may injure the skin or poorly rinse the device head, which will lead to infection. And the effect of the procedure is less strong.

It is difficult to say which procedure will be good for you. In this case, it is better to consult a cosmetologist. He will identify your problems and help you make a choice.

#4 side effects

When going for any procedure, a person must understand that there is a risk of certain side effects. This also applies to diamond peeling.

This may include:

  1. Small cracks. This happens if the doctor used the wrong attachment.
  2. Inflammatory process. It is encountered extremely rarely. In this case, it is worth using special masks and serums.
  3. Edema. This phenomenon disappears on its own after a couple of days.
  4. Pigmentation. Often occurs in case of non-compliance with the rules after the procedure, when the patient did not use creams with UV protection, sunbathed in a solarium or on the beach.

These side effects occur very rarely. You can protect yourself from them if you choose a good doctor and follow all the recommendations.

Many people wonder whether it is possible to do a diamond peeling procedure in the summer. Most doctors advise going for such manipulation in the autumn or winter.

The fact is that after microdermabrasion, the skin becomes thinner, becomes tender, and UV rays can harm it. Going for a session in the summer, a person risks encountering a burn or age spots.

Diamond facial peeling - what complications can there be?

Due to the fact that diamond facial peeling has a gentle effect on the skin, the risk of complications occurring is minimal. If you first understand the features of the procedure and understand what it is, then you can easily avoid any consequences. Who is recommended for diamond grinding?

Diamond peeling fights skin imperfections

The popularity of this procedure is constantly increasing due to the absence of age restrictions, pain, as well as the high effectiveness of the technique in the fight against:

  • enlarged pores;
  • age spots, freckles;
  • aging facial skin, loss of elasticity;
  • signs of aging, wrinkles and skin creases;
  • scars, scars, acne consequences, comedones;
  • ingrown hairs,
  • uneven complexion;
  • lumpy and uneven skin surface;
  • acne, clogged ducts of the sebaceous glands;
  • excessive oily skin;
  • insufficient elasticity of the epidermis due to low production of its own collagen.

Average cost of service

The cost of the procedure depends on a variety of factors:

  • prestige of the beauty salon;
  • doctor's qualifications;
  • impact zones, materials used during the procedure;
  • duration of sessions, their number, etc.

The cost of one session, as a rule, varies from 3,500 to 6,000 rubles. Note that salons often provide a discount to clients if the procedure affects several areas at once.

What are the types

There are actually a great variety of methods for performing peeling for their implementation.

Diamond peeling of the face and body skin is a mechanical cleansing method . It does not require additional drugs in the form of acids, such as chemical peeling, and does not provide total burn exfoliation of the treated areas.

Mechanical peeling is not as exotic as biological peeling with fish specially trained to perform cleansing and micromassage.

But it is not as expensive as hardware laser peeling, which requires super-sensitive equipment and high skill of a cosmetologist.

But despite some concerns, mechanical microdermabrasion is an extremely gentle and even pleasant method with a lymphatic drainage and stimulating effect.

Peculiarities

Skin microdermabrasion is a procedure that requires a highly qualified specialist and the use of professional equipment. It involves the removal of dead epidermal cells, as a result of which they are replaced by young tissue. After it is carried out, most of the wrinkles, age spots and other manifestations that negatively affect the appearance disappear on the face. The main feature of diamond peeling is its high effectiveness after the procedure; in addition, it is practically painless.

Through microtrauma, diamond grinding activates the skin's production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, which are necessary for the health and youth of the skin.

Cosmetic cleaning is most often performed using various brushes. Their surface is coated with a special diamond abrasive. The selection of the instrument is carried out based on the condition and type of the epidermis, as well as a number of other important nuances that the master takes into account.

The main objective of this cosmetic procedure is deep renewal of the skin. This is why diamond peeling is recommended for removing small imperfections on the skin, such as scars and other damage.

This is due to the minimum size of the crystals used for purification. Therefore, most often the procedure is carried out without the use of painkillers.

The positive side of cleaning is the absence of even minimal dust emissions during the treatment of the epidermis. A similar effect is possible due to a special device that operates during operation of the device with a nozzle. The vacuum absorbs dust from the crystals and prevents it from settling on the skin and mucous membranes of the nasopharynx. Otherwise, contact with microparticles would cause serious irritation to the mucous membranes.

In addition, the vacuum has an additional function - it normalizes blood circulation, which reduces the level of possible swelling after peeling.

To have a complete understanding of this cosmetic procedure, you should highlight the main tasks that are solved thanks to its implementation.

She helps:

  • remove dead, unnecessary cells;
  • cleanse pores of sebum, dirt and blackheads;
  • prepare the epidermis for more serious procedures;

  • activate the process of skin regeneration due to the production of important substances;
  • hide possible skin defects, such as scars, as much as possible;
  • remove age spots, freckles;
  • give complexion uniformity.

According to most dermatologists, microdermabrasion has unique properties that allow it to stand out from traditional skin cleansing. The difference between these methods is that the classic procedure involves exposing the skin to aluminum oxide crystals, which are applied to the tip of the working instrument. With diamond peeling, such aggressive contact does not occur. This allows the specialist to work with the most sensitive areas of the face, for example, the area around the eyes, where wrinkles appear quite early and in large numbers. In addition, during peeling, the risk of crystals penetrating into micro-tears in the skin is completely eliminated.

Even though diamond bits are a safe tool, there is still a small chance of injury due to the lack of professionalism of the technician who will perform the cleaning. In addition, various bacteria can remain on the head of the nozzle, which can lead to infection under the skin.

Some masters are of the opinion that cleansing with aluminum oxide will be more effective, since diamond devices will not be able to adapt and maximally work out tiny differences on the surface of the epidermis.

Preparation and technique

The preparatory stage includes assessing the condition of the skin and determining the type of problem that the diamond facial peel will ultimately solve. The esthetician needs to make sure that the patient is realistic about the results and explain what they may have to deal with. After this, the specialist gives recommendations that should be followed for two weeks before the scheduled session:

  • do not apply lotions and creams containing chemical exfoliators such as retinoic and glycolic acid to your face;
  • refrain from using self-tanning sprays, refuse to visit a solarium;
  • do not do other cosmetic procedures, especially injection techniques and chemical peeling.

Conduct a visual examination of the patient's face. Next, after putting on a protective cap and gown, the patient sits on the couch. First of all, the specialist cleanses the skin of dirt particles. Then, in order to increase the skin’s sensitivity to the abrasive nozzle and thereby increase the effectiveness of the procedure, the skin is thoroughly steamed using a vaporizer. After this, special compounds are applied to moisturize and soften the skin. If the skin is too sensitive or has scars, a local anesthetic is applied. Using rotating diamond-coated brush attachments, the specialist treats the entire surface of the face, removing old dermal cells and unclogging pores. A separate attachment is used for each area of the face: the chin and cheeks are polished with a larger one, and the delicate area near the eyes and ears is polished with a small one. Typically, up to ten types of attachments are used in one session. The nozzle is moved from the periphery to the center of the face, evenly influencing the massage lines

It is important that each subsequent line overlaps the previous one. If the master strictly follows all the rules, a uniform pinkness of the skin should be observed.

If red stripes appear on the skin, alternating with white ones, the specialist probably violated the technique. At the end, the beautician applies an ointment to soften the skin or applies a cold compress so that the pores narrow as quickly as possible. All that remains is to perform a light massage and advise the patient regarding further facial skin care.
