Massage creams and oils that I really like

The benefits of massage procedures have been proven in a number of cases; this method will be relevant for both the body and the face. Proper impact on the skin not only improves blood circulation, but also relieves muscle tension, has a beneficial effect on metabolic processes and promotes active relaxation. It would seem that the procedure itself is effective and self-sufficient, but it can also be done better. The effect is improved by using a special massage cream, which not only increases the level of comfort, but also additionally saturates the skin with useful components.

Massage cream

Even in ancient times, when performing massage, they used a variety of herbal infusions and lotions, and later they began to produce creams based on them. Creams have a variety of consistency and composition. The main composition of the cream is considered to be a high percentage of mineral oils, wax or silicones, due to which the hands glide over the body during a massage - this makes it much easier to work on the required area during the massage.

Although massage cream comes second in popularity after massage oil, it still performs many functions. When applying the cream, an invisible layer is created on the skin, protecting it from environmental influences and allowing all the beneficial substances to remain inside.

There are several types of massage creams:

  • Moisturizing.
  • Nutritious.
  • Anti-cellulite.
  • Tonic.
  • Relaxing.
  • Warming up.
  • Regenerating.

Each of the presented types of cream is aimed at specific results and has a good effect on the body in combination with massage.

Forms of cosmetics

Anti-cellulite cosmetic products are available in several types:

  1. Gel - the basic basis of such products is a substance consisting of water, gelatin, and cellulose components. Such products perform the function of moisturizing the skin. The gel spreads well over the skin and does not clog pores.
  2. Cream - its basis is a fat emulsion and water. Fats can be natural, but most often of synthetic origin. The product softens the epidermis well and is easily absorbed.
  3. Thermal cream – the difference between this option and regular cream is its composition. Warming preparations contain locally irritating components, for example, hot pepper extract. In addition to components of plant origin, there may also be synthetic substances with similar effects.
  4. Lotion is a liquid form of anti-cellulite preparations. The basis of such a product contains water, alcohol additives are possible, as well as extracted components of herbs or synthetic substances.

Massage Oil

Massage oil retains a leading position in use during massage. It perfectly moisturizes the skin, leaving an oily surface and thereby protecting it from stretching.

There are 2 main types of oils:

  1. Base oils . These include all fatty foods in their composition. They are made from seeds, nuts and fruits of a variety of plants. They generally do not have a strong odor and are used as a base for massage oils. These include: olive, coconut, grape and apricot seed oils, shea butter.
  2. Active oils . They can also be called essential oils. They are obtained from a variety of plants and fruits and they serve to perform specific tasks. Oils perform antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, stimulating and healing functions. Their distinctive feature is the presence of a sharp, concentrated odor. These include the following oils: mint, sage, cinnamon, geranium, rose, citrus, chamomile and many other plants that have beneficial medicinal properties.

On average, massage oils use 20% active and 80% base oils. They are actively used for massage on all parts of the body: arms, legs, body and even face.

What do massage cream and oil have in common?

The common property between massage cream and oil is their method of application for massage treatments. They both create a sliding effect on the skin during massage, which protects it from external irritation. They are also capable of having equally positive effects on the body: toning, soothing, warming and moisturizing.

Each of the means is aimed at solving its own problems . Both products contain several active components, in addition to which you can see the presence of silicones. But you shouldn’t be afraid of them in the composition, because they are of natural origin and protect the skin from the adverse effects of the environment (cold, frost, wind), and also help retain beneficial components inside the skin, which increases the effectiveness of the product. Silicones help smooth out wrinkles on the skin and give it smoothness - which is very important for giving the perfect appearance to damaged skin.

What is the difference between massage cream and oil?

When using both products during a massage, it is worth considering their distinctive features.

Let's look at all the main differences in more detail:

  1. Compound . Massage oil contains one or more components, and these are mainly natural oils. It is almost impossible to find flavors, dyes and other synthetic materials in the composition. A massage cream can have a large number of components, and not all creams have a natural composition.
  2. Consistency . The products differ significantly in their consistency. The oil generally has a more liquid and greasy consistency, while the cream has a fairly thick and dense, and less greasy structure. Also, creams can be very light in texture and nutritious, it all depends on the properties of the effect.
  3. Method of influence . The means differ in their method of action. The cream, with the help of its components, is able to act more deeply on the body, thereby improving the therapeutic effect. Oil can mainly affect only the upper layers of the skin.
  4. Features during massage . The massage cream is absorbed relatively quickly during the massage, but creates a certain protective layer that nourishes the skin and fills it with useful microelements. The cream is mainly suitable for winter or for those with oily skin. It does not create an oily, greasy layer on the skin that leaves marks on clothes and does not need to be removed from the body after a massage. The oil has a strong moisturizing effect, so those with oily skin should not use it often, as it can worsen the skin condition. But due to its natural composition, the oil often has no restrictions on the client’s age.

Nutrition rules

In your diet, you need to pay attention to a vegetable and protein diet. It is better to exclude the consumption of coffee, chocolate, spicy and smoked foods, sugar and carbohydrates. In addition, to cure cellulite, you need to quit smoking.

A toning shower in the morning, light physical activity, a balanced diet and giving up bad habits, regular use of massage and anti-cellulite products are the key to your healthy skin and slim figure. Do not neglect these rules and you will only see cellulite in pictures!

Which oils and creams should be used, when and for whom?

The compositions of creams are very diverse, and differ in their purpose. Each of the components included in the cream is aimed at solving specific problems, which is why various companies use them in their products:

  • Shilajit is a component that can eliminate age-related changes in the skin, remove pigment spots and smooth it out.
  • Pepper is a product aimed at improving blood circulation and warming up muscles. It is one of the main fat-burning components in products for reducing body volume and eliminating cellulite.
  • Bee or snake venom are components that have been used for thousands of years to eliminate inflammatory processes.

Before choosing any massage cream, it is recommended to pay attention to the composition of the product . It should be as natural as possible and exclude the presence of parabens, dyes and other harmful components. You should also pay attention to the composition of the nut extract in the cream; it is a strong allergen and can cause an allergic reaction, even on the most picky skin.

When using massage oils, it is important to consider your skin type and the properties of the oils, which can affect the skin differently. Let's take a closer look at commonly used oils:

  1. Coconut . It is the number one anti-inflammatory agent, tightens and nourishes the skin.
  2. Almond . Capable of regenerating the skin and making it silky.
  3. Shea Butter . It is the basis of almost all natural skin care products and can perfectly care for it during age-related changes.
  4. Avocado oil . Helps the skin remain young and beautiful for a long time, can increase the amount of collagen and elastin in it.
  5. Grape seed oil . Restores the water balance of the skin, gives it elasticity and firmness.
  6. Sesame . Perfectly saturates the skin with nutrients and moisture, eliminates flabby appearance and moisturizes too dry skin.

It should also be noted that tea tree, grapefruit and juniper oils are suitable for oily skin. For dry skin, ylang-ylang, orange, chamomile, and sandalwood oils will be useful. The following ingredients will help fight the signs of cellulite: patchouli, fennel, juniper, citrus and bergamot. For an analgesic effect, it is better to use pine, lemon balm, and mint oils.
