Universal aloe vera cosmetic mask - home recipe

Hello, my dear readers!

Yesterday I was replanting my homemade aloe vera. And she accidentally broke off a fairly large appendage.

Therefore, I had no choice but to prepare a gel from it and at the same time conduct a course of face masks based on it.

Today I want to share with you the recipe for a universal homemade aloe mask, which I have tried on myself a long time ago and would like to recommend to you.

This mask has a lot of beneficial properties for the skin, from a lifting effect, moisturizing, nourishing to cleansing and fighting acne.

So, the recipe, a universal rejuvenating face mask with aloe.

Useful properties and contraindications

Aloe masks and lotions have the following advantages:

The use of aloe on the face is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • pregnancy - anthraquinone promotes contraction of the uterine muscles, which can negatively affect the condition of the fetus;
  • pronounced capillary network;
  • menstruation period - the plant has a vasodilating effect, which can cause heavy bleeding and even bleeding.

To avoid the occurrence of an allergic reaction and accompanying negative consequences, before using self-prepared face masks with aloe at home, a test is carried out to identify the allergen.

To do this, you need to apply a little of the prepared mixture on your wrist and leave it for half an hour - if during this time no redness, itching or swelling appears, you can use the product as directed.

When is it better to refrain from using aloe masks?

There is no doubt that the agave is a miracle of nature. However, this plant also has its prohibitions on use, namely:

  • pregnancy at any stage, breastfeeding period;
  • rosacea;
  • individual immunity, allergies, accompanied by redness and burning in the areas where the mask is applied.

Whatever anti-wrinkle mask you choose, remember that you must follow the recommendations for its use. And the most successful solution would be to visit a specialist and get his advice before use.

How to cook?

In home cosmetology, honey and aloe are used to prepare face masks . First you will have to start preparing aloe leaves. Wash the lower leaves of aloe that are at least two years old under running water, place in a linen bag and leave in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. During this time, the plant will begin to produce biogenic stimulants that have healing and rejuvenating properties.

After 2 weeks, remove the sheets from the refrigerator, peel them from thorns, skins and blemishes, chop them into pulp with a knife or pass through a meat grinder. The prepared pulp or juice can be used as the main ingredient in cosmetic masks.

Tip : Honey is used in liquid form - it can be melted in a water bath or in the microwave. Honey should not be overheated - under the influence of high temperatures it loses its beneficial properties.

How to prepare aloe leaves

The most important stage in creating masks with aloe juice for wrinkles and other skin problems is preparing the leaves. This must be done correctly in order to preserve the maximum amount of nutrients. The best option is to use a plant grown on your own windowsill. Aloe juice is also sold in pharmacies, but such products retain much less valuable components than freshly picked leaves. In addition, alcohol and other impurities are added to store-bought juice, which can be harmful.

The leaves are easy to process, but it will take time for them to “ripen”, so the preparation should be done in advance. The technology consists of four stages.

  • Cutting. Select several lower fleshy leaves from the agave and carefully cut them to the very root. To avoid harming the plant, it is better to use a well-sharpened knife. Before cutting, it is advisable not to water the plant for two weeks, which will allow the leaves to “mix.”
  • Treatment. Wash the leaves to remove dirt and dust. Better with cool water. Then dry with a napkin or towel.
  • Cooling. Wrap them in thick paper or a piece of natural fabric and put them in the refrigerator. To avoid freezing, it is best to place it on the door. The leaves should be chilled for one to two weeks.
  • Collecting juice. After two weeks, you need to take out the leaves and squeeze the juice out of them. This should be done within a few hours, when the juice is richest in nutrients. To obtain juice, you need to cut off the top shell from the finished leaf, place the pulp of the leaf on gauze and squeeze it into a bowl. If the recipe calls for gel or pulp, then remove the outer skin of the leaf, cut off all the pulp and mix it in a bowl. The juice and pulp are suitable for use within three days. Provided that it is stored in a sealed glass container and refrigerated.

In cold conditions, aloe leaves produce special elements that stimulate the vital activity of plant cells. The leaves accumulate a large amount of useful substances, which are concentrated in the juice and pulp.

Rules of application

In order for the mask to be truly therapeutic and effective, it is necessary to prepare the raw materials, facial skin and carry out the procedure correctly.

  • To begin with, it is recommended to cut off the lower leaves of aloe, wash them well in water , wrap them in gauze and put them in the refrigerator for 14 days. When exposed to cold temperatures, natural stimulants are released in the leaves, which provide maximum benefits for the skin, and the finished mask becomes even more useful and effective.

  • Then you need to remove the aloe from the refrigerator and cut the leaves lengthwise.
  • If you need juice for the mask, then the chopped raw materials should be squeezed out, and if you need pulp, you need to finely chop the leaves and beat them in a blender until you obtain a pasty mixture.
  • It is important to conduct an allergy test, especially if the mask is being made for the first time.
  • Next add the remaining ingredients and mix well. You can spin the finished mixture in a blender again, then the mask will be homogeneous and fit well on the skin of the face.

  • It is recommended to heat kefir, honey and cosmetic oils to 40° before adding . However, if the mask contains protein, yolk or essential oils, you need to be extremely careful not to overheat the ingredients, otherwise the eggs may curdle and the essential oils will lose their beneficial properties.
  • Now you need to prepare the skin. To do this, you can use a scrub to cleanse the pores and remove any remaining dead cells. You can also make steam facials using herbs.
  • You can apply the mask using your fingertips , a special brush if it has a liquid consistency, or a special spatula. The mixture is not applied around the eyes.

  • For the procedure to be effective, you need to relax . Therefore, after applying the mask, it is recommended to take a horizontal position and not talk or laugh. It is important that facial expressions are not involved. You can also place gauze with slits around the eyes or a special napkin on top of your face. This will help prevent the mask or its ingredients from pilling.
  • Depending on what products are included in the mask, it can be left on for 15-30 minutes.
  • After this, you need to rinse off the remaining mixture with warm water and apply a moisturizer.
  • It is recommended to carry out this procedure once a week , if masks are made for medicinal purposes (fighting acne, irritation, etc.), it is allowed to make masks once every 2-3 days, for 3 weeks, and then take a break for at least for 2 week.
